The operations story of Vibe Clouding needs one bridge back to the original promise: describing the cloud by intent. That bridge is the Cloud Intent Spec.
Why it matters
Without declared intent, Vibe Clouding becomes reactive operations. It observes the estate and recommends cleanup. That is useful, but it is not fully intent-driven. The system needs something to compare reality against.
The Cloud Intent Spec provides that source of intent. It tells the system what the application is for, who owns it, what budget is expected, which reliability target applies, what data residency rules matter, which approval model is required, what backup standard applies, and which exceptions are intentional.
The three states
A Vibe Clouding system compares three states. Declared intent is what the team says should be true. Actual state is what the cloud currently shows. Documented state is what runbooks, diagrams, and decisions say.
When those states disagree, the system can identify the kind of drift: intent drift, documentation drift, policy drift, cost drift, reliability drift, or modernization drift.
What belongs in the spec
A useful Cloud Intent Spec should capture business outcome, application owner, environment criticality, budget range, region and residency requirements, security baseline, reliability target, backup expectations, deployment rules, approval model, known exceptions, modernization direction, and documentation requirements.
How it changes operations
Once intent is declared, recommendations become more meaningful. A cost anomaly is not just a number. It is a deviation from expected operating range. A backup gap is not just a missing setting. It is a mismatch against declared recovery expectations. A manual change is not just drift. It may be an approved exception that needs to be captured in the spec.
This is how day-two cloud operations and greenfield cloud design become part of the same discipline. In both cases, the system starts with intent, compares reality against it, and helps humans decide what should happen next.
